There are many factors that would determine the "best" or most recommended camera equipment for wildlife photography.

 

If you're planning to go on a photographic safari my advice would be to rent camera equipment. Renting camera equipment has many advantages, I'll discuss later.

 

For any kind of photography, my advice would be to use the equipment you have in the best possible way. Basically, if you only have a wide angle be creative with it and take wild angle photographs and if you only have a fix 500mm, well then you can't take wide angles. If you only have a mobile phone then don't expect to get great quality images for enlargements.
